Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport announces the opening of a vaccination centre within the airport
Cluj-Napoca, June 22, 2021: Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport in partnership with Cluj County Council, Cluj County Prefect’s Institution and Cluj County Public Health Directorate inaugurated today a vaccination center at the airport, aimed at those who want to immunize themselves against Covid-19.
The vaccination centre is located in the public area of the Arrivals Terminal and has all the necessary facilities. The used serum is Janssen produced by Johnson&Johnson, administered in a single dose, and vaccinated people will immediately receive a proof of immunization. In the vaccination centre from Cluj Airport, both Romanian and European Union citizens and those with residence in Romania can be vaccinated.
The vaccination office operates daily from 08:00 to 20:00 and no appointment is required.
“By opening this vaccination centre, Cluj International Airport makes endeavors to stop the SARS-COV-2 pandemic and thus supports the national vaccination campaign. By providing this facility, we offer our passengers the opportunity to travel safely again in a context where many countries no longer impose restrictions on vaccinated people” – affirmed the Managing Director of Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport, David Ciceo.
Cluj County Prefect, Mr. Tasnádi István-Szilárd affirmed: “We all considered the opening of this centre to be a point of interest. It is about the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Vaccination will be done from Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“The vaccination centre from the airport will benefit from several medical teams to accomplish the 12-hour daily schedule. Given the high flow of departing, arriving and the carers awaiting for passengers, we want and expect an extensive vaccination rate – said Dr. Moisescu-Goia Mihai, Director of the Public Health Department of Cluj County.
